Welcome to the Owlery! Here you can send and receive letters from other players who are too far away to contact via a Patronus Missive. Here's how it works: - Once every day, you may write one letter to a player of your choice from the opposing Side. These letters will be delivered with breakfast, as is traditional. - Due to an unfortunate exclusivity clause in our Floo Contracts, you can never send a letter to your Pureblood vs Order partner. - You also cannot send your letters to the same player twice in a row, because Owls get easily bored of repeating the same flight paths. - There is a weight limit for all letters, as many of our Owls are small and overworked. Therefore letters which are longer than 2000 characters shall not be delivered. You can check the length of your letter at wordcounter.net/character-count which uses some strange Muggle magic to approximate parchment length and weight. - Once you post a letter in this thread, we will begin processing it immediately and accept no other letter in its place for the current round. Not even if you spot a typo. The deadline for Owl Post is exactly 12 hours apart from the Challenge deadlines. To send a letter you must post it in this thread before 8:30am AEST, and the Owls will deliver any letters addressed to you soon afterward (within an hour, if not immediately). Because much of magical law and order would collapse without the creatures' cooperation, the Owls have more bargaining power than any union of Muggle postmen and have demanded ORG weekends off - so there shall be no Owl Post on Friday or Saturday. The Owls have also been on an extended strike vacation since late last year, so the starting date for Owl Post in The ORG of the Phoenix has been set for this Tuesday 3 May. Thus, your first Owl Post letters must be posted in this thread before 8:30am AEST this Tuesday. Please use the following format when you post your letters: Note that the date, sender and recipient at the beginning of the letter will not count toward the character limit. If you have any questions about how the Owl Post system works, the Ministers shall gladly answer them for you here. Otherwise, we hope you enjoy the full service of the Owl Post system each day. And do take care not to upset any of the Owls!

Oh shoot, I think I maybe messed up timezones on getting a letter to Oliver Wood? Well, I'll write it now, I guess he'll get it eventually.
Date: Day 1, Sunday 1 May To: Oliver Wood From: Corbus Yaxley
Hullo Mr. Wood. Mr. Lucius Malfoy suggested I should talk to you 'bout Quidditch or sumthin'? I used to be an okay player but Petey's memory charm messed up my head real bad so now I can't remember the rules. D'you reckon I need to know the rules to play Quidditch? I figure if I grab one of them there sticks I could just hit the balls at folks and that'd be alright.
Say hi to Digg for me, let 'em know he's gotta look after Wingdings for a bit. I think some o' the folk over here are a bit dodgy, might try to eat him. They've been very nice so far though, even with my memory loss and all. But I'm already their friends, right? I dunno about Wingdings.
Well anyways, cheers mate. Yaxley

A flock of owls fly overhead, and not a single one lands in front of you. Still hopeful, you wait and wait... but eventually every owls departs and still you have nothing. Then on the way out of the Great Hall, a scrap of parchment on the floor catches your eye...

Well I tried going to both board 89 and thread 89. Board 89 doesn't exist and thread 89 won't let me view it, so I'm out of ideas.

Oh, is this going to be something where I have to check the actual books? That's a fun idea but I don't own them anymore.

Date: Day 3, Tuesday 3 May To: Fleur Delacour From: Corbus Yaxley
Hullo, Ms. Dela-cour. This is Yaxley, Digg's partner and all that. I hope you're doin' well. Sorry if we've met before, I don't 'member nuthin' after Peter's memory charm messed up my head real bad. Digg seems to have a high 'pinion of you, anyways.
Barty says he was very happy to get your message. The lucky bloke got a couple of Owls, and I didn't get 'nuthin. I think Lucius has him messaging Wood this round? Lucius is a real on-top-of-things kinda guy. So I'm responding to you instead. I hope that's not too disappointing lass, I know Barty's nicer to hear from than me.
I asked ol' Rodolphus if he wanted to say sumthin' in here too, but the chap's not been online since I was told to write this and I dunno if he'll get back online before I gotta send it. Well, I guess if you're reading this, he didn't. That kinda sucks, sorry 'bout that, Lass.
I feel a bit daft, I've still got half a letter of space left and not much else I can think to say. Hopefully if you get any other letters they're better than this one. Uh, things in Death Eater land are fine. Alecto left and that was sad, poor lass caught the plague or sumthin'. She claimed we was married, but I don't 'member that at all and I couldn't find a ring. That's kinda funny, innit?
Cheers, Lass. Yaxley

Date: Day 4, Wednesday 4 May
To: Lily Potter
From: Corbus Yaxley
Hullo, Mrs. Potter. This is Yaxley. I'm friends with Barty. You prob'ly already know that though, with all the post that's flyin' around. I reckon you heard from Lucius last round? I dunno for sure though, the Owl Post is kinda just sumthin' we talk 'bout if there's nuthin' else goin' on and bootin' Travers meant there's other stuff goin' on, so I'm missin' that picture right now.
Barty says you did good with everyone who you sent Owls too, well done on that. He reckons you should have sent one to me but I can understand why you didn't. I'm a pretty plain and borin' bloke, and that backfired memory charm on me didn't do me personality any favours, neither. Probably. I don't 'member, on account of the backfired charm. Sometimes life's just like that I guess. Oh. Barty also reckons he should apologize, the bloke forgot your Patronus was a doe. That's a pretty thing for a Patronus, innit?
We booted Travers last round. He was a good bloke, kinda mad doctor-y. But he was too busy, basically posted an apology sayin' he knew he'd die because he couldn't do Quidditch, but he liked us all fine and wished us well. It was a bit sad. One dumb git stray-voted Lucius though, that's been most of our discussions this round. It wasn't Travers, neither; turns out Peter specifically announces when someone self-votes, 'cause Travis voted for himself.
I dunno who you messaged last round, so I can't give your their response. Sorry 'bout that. Anyways, tell Diggle I say hullo and give our dog Wingdings' some treats for me, I miss 'em both.
I haven't had any post yet, but one good thing 'bout that is I got a lotta idol clues. Looks like they're side-based, so I reckon you n' Digg n' whoever else you're workin' with should get your hands on 'em quick too. Just head to this site: bit.ly/37z8quI The password is LISAGUNTHER. We haven't figured out the rest yet, sorry 'bout that. Good luck though.
Cheers,
Yaxley

Date: Day 4, Wednesday 4 May
To: Kingsley Shacklebolt From: Corban Yaxley
Hullo, Mr. Shacklebolt. This is Yaxley. I reckon you might not hear from anyone now that Travers is gone, but I hope you're in okay spirits regardless. Apologies if we've met before; Peter's memory charm was too effective on me, I've forgotten pretty much everythin'. I keep forgettin' more stuff too, all the time. I reckon if I was any good at law I could sue for damages, but the idea a dumb bloke like me could be a lawyer is a laugh.
Travers was a nice chap. A bit absent, a lotta the time, but he was a fun guy. Cool way of thinkin'. I thought it was gross he had mudblood all over his clothes 'til he pointed out to me that it's no worse than bein' covered in Mosquito guts. Which is still pretty bad, I guess. Anyways, I guess he didn't have time to do the Quidditch match and reckon'd he was toast after that, so he made a big public thing apologizin' and wishin' us all well in the manor over here. He self-voted too, I guess he was just too busy. Anyways, take care mate.
Cheers, Yaxley

Date: Day 8, Sunday 8 May To: Oliver Wood From: Corban Yaxley
Hullo again Mr. Wood, hope things are well. I was real excited to get your last post, it was me first time gettin' one.
I reckon you've got the right o' it between whose closer to Lucius between Igor n' I. Guess if I was wrong I wouldn't know it, but at any rate I consider Lucius a top shelf bloke, just one of the best. I passed your message on to him, I did, though I don't got no idea who Icarus is so it was all Greek to me. I'm missin' Wingdings too, hope we can all see each other again soon.
I think that groupin' of the six of us sounds 'bout right. For other evil folks, HK and Lestrange are both pretty solid blokes too, though I reckon they might start tryin' to kill each other once Pyrites is gone.
Cheers on helpin' us get some clues lad, I sent off where we got with 'em to Lily last round, hopefully you've seen the immunity board by now since.
I reckon Lucius is writin' Digg again, so hopefully you folks can chat 'bout it more. Barty sent off a response to an old one for Moody ' bout the blokes eye or sumthin', he'll message one of you lot tomorrow prob'ly.
Cheers mate, Yaxley

Date: Day 9, Monday 8 May
To: Lucius Malfoy From: Corban Yaxley
Hullo Lucius.
Sorry I didn't write to you yesterday, my life's crazy business has kept me away from the game more n' I'd like. I reckon we should talk 'bout the end o' the manor, eh? I gotta admit, I was surprised you thought Pyrites was worth playin' the idol on there mate. Seemed like if Igor was gunna fill you in, he'd probably have kept to you? But lookin' at how the swap worked out, I guess it all went pretty well.
I reckon Black sent to me yesterday, though he didn't sign it or nuthin'. You were both mentioned as sendin' to Barty n' Wood though, so who else could it be? I didn't get it 'til after I gave the challenge a go, so I couldn't do nuthin' to throw it like he wanted. But I kinda fucked it up anyways, I barely did me own points, and I guess I accidentally blocked a couple o' other folks too unknowin'ly. I'm guessin' by Fletch's leavin' that Black sayin things looked real bad on your side o' the water isn't all that accurate no more anyways? He suggested a Kingsley vote, which is a pretty reasonable plan s'far as I can see, though I'm a bit nervous someone else'll Switch for him. HK n' Igor are both already askin' if we're alrigh' to kill you if you Switch over, and I don't wanna deal with 'em freakin' out and flippin' everything round again, so I'm saying yeah to 'em for now. I dunno why they're even askin' now if they didn't trust us 'nough to even ask us in the Manor days, but whatever I guess? Igor's a bit of a mess. Lily, Barty, Wood n' I all seem like we're gettin' along pretty well. They all say hullo, n' they're lookin' forward to reconnectin' with you n' Digg at the merge. I dunno how much he features in your plans, but hopefully he's doin' alright. Tell 'im I say hullo, hope he's well n' all that.
Igor's also talkin' bout trying to get Kingsley or Wood to switch on Reg so that he can keep Reg safe? I don't reckon Wood'll go fer it, but unless you want an extra body I'd maybe shift things off him if you can.
Cheers,
Yaxley

Hullo Kingsley,
Cheers on escapin' mate, well done that was. I didn't 'xpect Pyrites to be gone there when Black was off the messages for a bit, so that's a feather in your cap. A bit sad we were schemin' together n' nuthin'll come of it, but it was prob'ly the righ' play on your part, I dunno if there was the will to find a fourth person to get a majority over here. Hope the new side's doin' well for you. HK's focusin' on gunnin' Pyrites down now, n' I reckon we're all gunna stick to that? But I reckon there's rumblin's of some other stuff here or there too, it feels a bit quiet. I think Igor wants to kill Wood, n' maybe vice versa? S'hard to say mate. Anyways, hope you're well, n' whoever you were missin' from mystery-land is doin' well too. Say hullo to Digg for me, hope we're all reunitin' soon. If you reckon there's someone else that's under fire soon, I'd not mind knowin' bout a swap option, neither.
Cheers, Yaxley

Congratulations once again on reaching the Merge! We were ready to shut down Owl Post now that there is only one Side and everyone is well within reach of your Patronus Missives, but apparently we still have more time remaining on our contract with the Owls. And now they're eager to keep working? With consistent hours? We don't pretend to understand how their birdbrains work. But we don't have much of a choice in the matter. Therefore, will be repurposing our Owleries. From now on, you may send Owl Post each morning to the Gallery of portraits lurking in the walls, and to the Cancelled players gathered in St Mungos. They can't influence your Game at all, but they're also interested in it. And while they can't read your regular Diary Journal entries, this is your chance to entertain them directly with the inside scoop... or not; it's entirely up to you. The only restriction is that unlike your relative freedom on this sub-board, your letter cannot include anything relating to your ID, or your PBvO partner's. We guarantee that nothing you send in Owl Post will get back to any players still in the Game, or to the Wizengamot. The character limit is being halved to a 1000 character maximum, but the deadline to submit Owl Post is still 8:30am, starting again on Sunday. The owls are pleased with this arrangement, and while your participation is by no means compulsory, we hope that you will also continue to enjoy their services. Doing so regularly is in the interests of both our collective entertainment and the Ministry's legal liability.
