Welcome to the Owlery! Here you can send and receive letters from other players who are too far away to contact via a Patronus Missive. Here's how it works: - Once every day, you may write one letter to a player of your choice from the opposing Side. These letters will be delivered with breakfast, as is traditional. - Due to an unfortunate exclusivity clause in our Floo Contracts, you can never send a letter to your Pureblood vs Order partner. - You also cannot send your letters to the same player twice in a row, because Owls get easily bored of repeating the same flight paths. - There is a weight limit for all letters, as many of our Owls are small and overworked. Therefore letters which are longer than 2000 characters shall not be delivered. You can check the length of your letter at wordcounter.net/character-count which uses some strange Muggle magic to approximate parchment length and weight. - Once you post a letter in this thread, we will begin processing it immediately and accept no other letter in its place for the current round. Not even if you spot a typo. The deadline for Owl Post is exactly 12 hours apart from the Challenge deadlines. To send a letter you must post it in this thread before 8:30am AEST, and the Owls will deliver any letters addressed to you soon afterward (within an hour, if not immediately). Because much of magical law and order would collapse without the creatures' cooperation, the Owls have more bargaining power than any union of Muggle postmen and have demanded ORG weekends off - so there shall be no Owl Post on Friday or Saturday. The Owls have also been on an extended strike vacation since late last year, so the starting date for Owl Post in The ORG of the Phoenix has been set for this Tuesday 3 May. Thus, your first Owl Post letters must be posted in this thread before 8:30am AEST this Tuesday. Please use the following format when you post your letters: Note that the date, sender and recipient at the beginning of the letter will not count toward the character limit. If you have any questions about how the Owl Post system works, the Ministers shall gladly answer them for you here. Otherwise, we hope you enjoy the full service of the Owl Post system each day. And do take care not to upset any of the Owls!

Date: Day 3, Tuesday 3 May To: Barty Crouch Jr. From: Alastor Moody
Crouch,
Was hoping to never see your ugly mug again, but here we seem to be. I need to know what the bloody hell you did to my eye during the months you were cavorting around in my skin. It keeps sticking, and I'm getting sick and tired of it. You know when you have an itch in a really specific spot in your back that even your wand can't properly scratch? Yeah, well I got that in the back of my effin' eye socket, thanks to you. Were you careless enough to drop it in something? Or is it from poorly timed re-ups of your Polyjuice potion forcing it out so your real eye could fill itself on back in? I gotta say, I really do not want to know what you did with this eye, but if I want to fix this damn problem, I need all the disgusting details I can get.

Date: Day 4, Wednesday 4 May To: Travers From: Alastor Moody
Travers,
No.
- Alastor
P.S. The last piece of scum who took my eye mucked it up so badly that the damn thing keeps sticking. This thing isn't leaving my socket again until some arsehole decides to rip it from my dead body. Anyways, don't you have your own connections in the Department of Mysteries who could help with all that? I certainly have no intention of helping you. And your years in Azkaban don't even begin to make up for the murder of Marlene McKinnon and the rest of that poor family. Don't even try it, Travers.
And which one of you got to Figg? Of course the official Ministry word is that she left voluntarily, but she left me her corpse in her will, and there is clear evidence of dark magic. One of you should fess up. Not like she was that talkative before she copped it though, always talking about those cats. Just meant the rest of us didn't have to kick her out ourselves. Nothin' much exciting going on over here either. Not like I'd tell you if there was, though. Everyone's here, even if Dung showed late. Typical Dung. You're not tryna to tell me that Kingsley tried to go undercover with you, did he? The man's much too flashy for that type of thing, hrmph. Also let Pyrites know that Roger isn't a bad name for a pet - I'd have agreed to it. Most of his other answers were rubbish. If you do, maybe I'll let you...look...at my eye. Under careful watch and supervision. And I'll cast any spells you'd want to do to examine it. One TOENAIL out of line and I'll have you thrown back in Azkaban faster than you can say "Traversatility".

Date: Day 5, Thursday 5 May To: Corban Yaxley From: Alastor Moody
Yaxley,
Well well well. Out in the open again as a Death Eater are you now? Still can't believe you wriggled your way out of an Azkaban sentence after killing Cattermole. He was a good Auror and even better bloke. But claiming "imperius" won't get you out of this mess, Yaxley. I'm itchin' to see you pay for your crimes. Y'know, after we deal with this experience.
I'm not about to bother introducing myself because you better know damn well who I am. And I know you. I see right through you. Just another example of how easy it is for the corruption to be inside the Ministry itself.
So then. Why the bloody hell am I botherin' to send you a post, you might be wonderin'? Honestly feels like these posts are more a waste of our time than anything. Like we can be expected to tell each other anything useful when we're only going off of disgusted feelings about the other. But, as it happens, I do have somethin' for ya.
Diggle mentioned something to me about a dog? Wingdongs or someat like that? Odd name, but besides the point. Wanted you to know the pooch is doing well and missing you. Can't imagine why, but alright. Diggle's a good chap, well meaning. He deserves better than you for a partner, hrmph. I think the two of us got a nice working relationship going, so if you're concerned at all for his safety, know that one of the best Aurors of all time has his eye out for him. Now don't you go spreading that, though. We've got a couple people who aren't around too much, so I don't need to worry about protecting him much for now. He talks well enough of you too, which is why I figured I'd send this, even if I rolled my eyes so hard at him saying that that my eye was stuck backwards for a good half hour.
Last person I sent an owl post to got murdered later that night, so good luck. Dunno if you talk to Pyrites much, but I hated him less than I thought I would, considering. If you two do get on, that'd be promising.
That's all, Alastor

Date: Day 8, Sunday 8 May To: Lucius Malfoy From: Alastor Moody
Malfoy,
You avoiding me? Well, you've always managed to slip your way through compromising situations, now haven't you? Avoiding me is a good way to do that, but it's time that stops. You know it wasn't me who turned your kid into a ferret, right? That was Crouch? Though, to his credit I'd have probably done the same thing. Might've picked something different though. Little white rabbit, maybe. Cowardly animal full of fear. Sounds about right. As for you, Lucius? Thinkin' an eel. Yeah, an eel would work.
Thanks for advertising your home as the headquarters for your little side, by the by. How many times has it already been raided by the Ministry? Doesn't seem like much of a safe stronghold after all. Only a matter of time before the Order finds a way to take the fight there.
Not sure what you've been hearing about the goings on at Grimauld Place. If this Side isn't full of a bunch of morons, it should all be false. Guess the only thing that's provable as true is that Aberforth left the last time around. Idiot paid more attention to his goats than to us. Nothin' complicated about it. Bit of a knock to the ego to see how useless our Side was at that challenge. I pulled my weight, but could only do so much. Blast. Better to work alone sometimes when it comes to that type of thing.
What happened on your end, Travers disappear on you? Heard a rumor he might not have gone at all if he'd been a little more proactive.

Date: Day 9, Monday 9 May To: Lily Potter From: Alastor Moody
Dear Lily,
Well drat. If there was one person over at the Prophet I'd rather be here, it's you. But I hope you and Wood are able to hang in there at least. Decided to write to you because I already know you should be getting a post from Fleur, and am therefore not robbing you of an opportunity to get a clue if there are new ones about with the Side Swap. Plus I'd rather talk to you than anyone else over there.
From what I've heard over here, apparently last night got spicy. Got most of this from Pyrites, but it seems like the vote plan was going to be Karkaroff until it switched to be unanimous on Pyrites (potentially for a busy weekend schedule, I'm not so sure on that bit yet). Something got Malfoy spooked that, if Pyrites went, he'd be next, so he went to Pyrites and told him about the idol, which led to the play and elimination of Lestrange. I don't think Fleur's too pleased about Lestrange being gone and Malfoy being responsible.
Anyways, knowing that Malfoy got the idol at the Manor definitely convinces me there were more on our Side who knew about the idol before you did, since you said Yaxley sent it to you, and I wouldn't be surprised if he heard it from Malfoy after it was too late. Malfoy may have sent it along before you ever got it.
I'm a bit more worried about the numbers over on your Side - hopefully some of what I've mentioned can be helpful and that having Crouch with you is as much a boon to you as I'm hoping having Pyrites here will be a boon to me. Not too sure how things are going to go down over here. Goal is to just stick with Fleur, Diggle, and Tonks and see how it goes. Malfoy's a bigshot, Black's an unknown, and Dung's a turd. Good luck on your Side of it.
Sincerely, Alastor

Date: Day 10, Tuesday 10 May To: Barty Crouch Jr From: Alastor Moody
Crouch,
I see how it is. You were looking for an excuse to avoid me, was it, trying to evade responding to me? Nice little cover story of havin to send messages to others. I see past it. Notice how I did not immediately respond the first chance I got? Yeah. That was intentional.
Been doing much better since being locked in my own box for 9 months. Amazing what some fresh air will do for you. Can't say I have a ton of confidence in your haircuts though, Crouch. See, never had a mirror to see the result when you were doin' em. I'll keep my trunk too. Reckon there could be a chance to simultaneously imprison a Death Eater and get some much needed satisfactory revenge if the opportunity ever presents itself. In unrelated news, I do hope we are able to meet up here in this game.
Congratulations to the both of us on reuniting with our partners. Heard about what happened with the idol and that you were one of the votes against Lestrange and not Pyrites. Grateful to that. Lily's not annoying at all - one of the most pleasant people to speak with, in fact. Quite fond of her. And listen, this might be a bit premature of me to say, but I am sure everyone else noticed that we are now the only pairs with the opportunity to work together on a Side. I already know I like Lily, and she's never said a bad word against you. So I'd be inclined to think that if the four of us make it through to the next phase unscathed, it'd be in our best interest to join forces. Keep our pairs intact and stay strong. Food for thought.
The vote against Dung was unanimous, so you know, with him voting Black. Shouldn't be of any surprise to anyone who met Dung that we cut him out - barely around. Claimed he was strong in challenges, then didn't do yesterday's at all. Expected to go, I think.
Oh and I do hope you are feeling better. Your post didn't infect me, thank Merlin.
Talk soon, -Alastor

Date: Day 11, Wednesday 11 May To: Hedwig's Killer From: Alastor Moody
Hello,
Dunno quite how to address a letter to someone without really a name, but ah well. Been meaning to write you for a while now, got a request to make. Is Hedwig the only bird you're interested in killing? Or would you expand that, not just beyond owls, but to any avian variety? I've got this swarm of arsehole birds waking me up at the crack of dawn every morning. So if you've got some sort of avian removal service, I've got the galleons. If it was just personal to Potter's bird, well then never mind.
Listen, I know we haven't had a lick of conversation since this whole thing's started up, but I'm hearing information from a few angles that it might be worth connecting the two of us. Pyrites spoke highly of you when we was over here. Said you've got a bit of banter. More of a straight shooter myself, and if you don't like it, you can sod off. I'm too old to change and this blasted eye sees too much. Now, Pyrites, as he'll likely tell you himself, just got voted out 4-2-1 over here. Lucius got 2 (I was one of them) and I think Pyrites voted Black. Tell him it was my bad, will ya? I was ready for the vote to be Black and was told last minute that no, it had to be Lucius. And instead I was also wrong in a different minority. Had no idea he was getting votes whatsoever. Plans were laid very carefully so my CONSTANT VIGILANCE couldn't detect it.
I dunno what's in store for Pyrites now he's over with you lot. I'd like to hope he's not dead on arrival, but that's not something I've got any say in. Won't interfere in what happens on the other Side. But Kingsley and I have caught up a bit since the Switch and he mentioned you seemed most interested in breaking out of these original sides down the line and trying to shake things up. Hope this shows I'm interested in laying foundations. There's a few people on both sides whose names I always seem to hear about as being in the thick of things as power players. Don't think you and I are in that.
-Alastor

Date: Day 12, Thursday, 12 May To: Igor Karkaroff From: Alastor Moody
Karkaroff,
Don't got much time, but I think you're the only person I haven't been in touch with yet in some way or form. Not that I haven't been enjoying the absence from having to look at your ugly mug. Thought I'd seen the last of you years ago after catching your sorry Death Eater arse. Wriggled your way out of it through being a snitch, right? And not the golden kind? Hrmph.
Anyways, I'm a lot more useful than my partner. Can't blame you all for voting him out - a man can only have so many lives and chances. So on the offset just want to mention no hard feelings there. I mean hell, the majority of my group voted him out too. I might be the only one in this entire game who didn't vote for Pyrites at least once. Can't hold any grudges in that way, though there are a couple people I'm a little more peeved at for stringing me along. I'm not a man who likes getting fooled.
Double Council tonight should be an interesting time. Best of luck on your end, I'll be watching out for myself on mine. Figure we've got to be ending these bloody sides soon, right? Hoping to meet you more properly then.
I don't have much more to say in the way of information, but don't want this owl post to be a complete waste since it means you won't be able to get any parchment scraps. So as a show of good faith that I'm interested in you and not giving you the run around, one of the parchments says You at the top, Made below it and then's got an "rk" at the bottom a bit further right. Good luck to you.
-A. Moody

Congratulations once again on reaching the Merge! We were ready to shut down Owl Post now that there is only one Side and everyone is well within reach of your Patronus Missives, but apparently we still have more time remaining on our contract with the Owls. And now they're eager to keep working? With consistent hours? ![::)](http://images.proboards.com/new/rolleyes.gif) We don't pretend to understand how their birdbrains work. But we don't have much of a choice in the matter. Therefore, will be repurposing our Owleries. From now on, you may send Owl Post each morning to the Gallery of portraits lurking in the walls, and to the Cancelled players gathered in St Mungos. They can't influence your Game at all, but they're also interested in it. And while they can't read your regular Diary Journal entries, this is your chance to entertain them directly with the inside scoop... or not; it's entirely up to you. The only restriction is that unlike your relative freedom on this sub-board, your letter cannot include anything relating to your ID, or your PBvO partner's. We guarantee that nothing you send in Owl Post will get back to any players still in the Game, or to the Wizengamot. The character limit is being halved to a 1000 character maximum, but the deadline to submit Owl Post is still 8:30am, starting again on Sunday. The owls are pleased with this arrangement, and while your participation is by no means compulsory, we hope that you will also continue to enjoy their services. Doing so regularly is in the interests of both our collective entertainment and the Ministry's legal liability.
