Now that the Sides have been disbanded and you've reached the merge, we can unveil the next Twist in the game:
Every round will now begin with a random draw that splits the remaining players into pairs. From there the concept is relatively simple: if one player in a pair wins Individual Immunity, the player they are paired with also gains Individual Immunity. Meaning that two players will be ineligible to receive votes at each Magical Council.
When rounds begin with an odd number of players, there will be one player left without a partner. If this unpaired player wins Individual Immunity, they will also win the ability to assign Individual Immunity to a second player of their choosing. Their decision would be announced within the first five minutes of the Magical Council. (And they should leave a pre-pick in their voting thread so that the Ministers can announce it for them if they don't show up live.)
Now you might be wondering what to do if you're not altogether pleased with your randomly assigned partner, or if some other aspect of the random draw is not to your liking. Shouldn't you just be able to wave your wand and make things better? Well you'll be pleased to know that we've found two spells which can help you out with that: the final version of the Flick and Switch Charms!
The new SWITCH Charm allows you to 'Switch' the positions of any two players in the draw. Simply cast the spell and name the two players you wish to see Switched. The only limits to this spell are that you can never name yourself, and you can never name a player you are in an Immunity Pair with, according to the round's draw.
The new FLICK Charm can 'Flick' aside the partner you have been assigned. After somebody casts a Flick Charm, we'll randomly draw another player to Switch positions with the current partner of whoever cast the Charm. The pool for the random selection will not include the player who cast the Charm or the partner they are flicking away.
If you want to attempt casting either the Flick Charm or the Switch Charm, you should make a post in your Switch and Flick thread in your private
1. To attempt a Switch Charm, make a post naming the two players whose positions you wish to switch, alongside this image:
2. To attempt a Flick Charm, post this image:
3. To attempt neither Charm, make a post saying 'NO CHARM CAST'.
2. To attempt a Flick Charm, post this image:
3. To attempt neither Charm, make a post saying 'NO CHARM CAST'.
If you do not post in your Switch and Flick thread before the 8:30am deadline, we will deem you to have chosen this third option. We'd still prefer it if you post to indicate that you won't be casting a Charm, because if every player in the game makes a post in their respective threads a while before the deadline, the Ministers can announce the Charms outcomes early.
Two more important rules to note. First, you may only post one of the three options every round, and once you do so it will be considered final - even if you change your mind afterward, we will only ever count the first post made in your private thread each round.
Secondly, you may not attempt to cast the same Charm during two consecutive rounds. Thus there is an upside to casting NO CHARM: you will retain full flexibility to use either Charm in the next round.
Because many of you will likely try to cast overlapping Charms each round, we'll be streamlining the process as follows:
- Once each Magical Council ends, we will immediately post the Immunity Pairs draw for the new round in this thread.
- All players should either cast FLICK, SWITCH or NO CHARM in their private threads before 8:30am.
- Shortly after this deadline (or possibly earlier if all players have posted before then) the Ministers will update this thread with finalised Immunity Pairs.
- Only one Switch Charm and one Flick Charm can take effect in each round, at most. If multiple players attempted to cast the same Charm, we will randomly select one of them - only the player chosen will see their Charm successfully cast.
- We'll always apply the successful Switch Charm to the Immunity Pairs draw first, and then apply the successful Flick Charm. In the event that a Switch Charm was already used to change the pairing of the successful Flick Charm caster, they will instead Flick away their newly Switched partner - but we will exclude their original partner (whom they intended to Flick away) from the random draw that determines their final partner.
The Immunity Pairs twist will be in play from this Merge round up to and including the Final Five Magical Council (which incidentally is also the last time Hidden Immunity Items can be played). Throughout this entire period, each player can successfully cast one Charm only - either the Switch or the Flick. Which one you use and when you use it is up to you.
However, you may eventually earn the ability to cast both the Switch and the Flick once each, between now and Final Five! Two of you have already earned this power by claiming the 'post-merge advantage' gifts in the last Immunity Challenge.
The rest of you may eventually be able to purchase the same power, using House Points. If your House Points total hits 100 and a Mutual ID Reveal is no longer possible (either because your PBvO partner is no longer in the Game, or because you've already earned the Reveal using your first 100 House Points), you will instead be gifted the use of your second Charm.
A Charm will only count as 'used up' if it is cast successfully, so if your attempt to cast a Charm during a given round has no effect (i.e. another player's Charm was chosen over yours), it will not restrict you from attempting a Charm in future rounds.
Now that you know how everything will work... Here are the Immunity Pairs draw for this Final Twelve round:
Alastor 'Mad-Eye' Moody and Lucius Malfoy
Lily Potter and Dedalus Diggle
Fleur Delacour and Regulus Black
Corban Yaxley and Nymphadora Tonks
Oliver Wood and Kingsley Shacklebolt
Barty Crouch Jr and Hedwig's Killer

For the record, the player draws for each round were locked in pre-game, in the form of randomised list of the full cast. We'll work down the list for each round from top to bottom, ignoring players who have already been eliminated and pairing up the remaining players in the order they are listed. For the sake of full transparency, we will make the original post containing the lists visible to everyone once the game is done, showing a pre-game timestamp with no edits.
