![](https://i.imgur.com/6XEkgEJ.png) The Ministers cordially welcome Alastor 'Mad-Eye' Moody and Pyrites to the ORG of the Phoenix! While the exact scope of the adventure ahead remains uncertain, you are both fortunate indeed to be undertaking it together! The bond between you is thicker than blood, thanks to a lifetime of familiarity and the buildup of trust strong enough to endure even the most fundamental of disagreements. As family members, you will be... ...what's that? You don't recall - you don't... Wait! ... You WHAT? Well. Ah. It seems there may have been some unexpected ummmm side effects of your transfer to this realm. There were after all a small number of memory-related charms employed in shielding the arenas and... well these seem to have exceeded their limits and backfired... somewhat. You have our sincerest apologies. As recompense, the Ministry can offer you the gift of time: three full days during which you may reacquaint yourselves with one another. Consider this period to be a kind of extended Day 0, if you will, before we kick off the Games properly this Sunday the 1st of May at 8:30pm AEST. On that official Night 1 you will be introduced to the other participants, learn more details of what shall unfold here, and begin the regular structure of The ORG of the Phoenix. But until then you have only one another for company, and only in this Floo Network board. This space is yours to do with as you wish, but we hope that over the next three days you manage to accomplish at least the following: 1. Read and sign the Rules & Expectations thread. In addition to these Game-long rules, you may not send any PMs during Day 0. 2. Get to know your partner! Please do not share any IRL or casting details which could compromise Closed-ID rules. Until we have found a way to disable the Memory Charms, it is wise to treat these wayward charms with extreme caution, unless you wish to die a very painful death. (See the House Points thread for more details.) But also... don't let that stop you from bonding together! Talk about yourselves as the marvelous characters you are, discuss your plans for this game, buy a magical pet together, and do try to puzzle out how exactly you are related. 3. Once you feel ready, have a crack at the Opening Challenge. All the details you need are in the designated thread but the key things to keep in mind are that it must be completed before Day 0 ends, and that you should arrange to play it at a time when both of you will be online. It is in part a test of your teamwork, so we encourage you not to rush into it; get to know one another first and leave it for later in the weekend. 4. Enjoy yourselves! Relax together while you can, because come Sunday night things will take a turn for the... fantasmic. That's all for now! See you on Sunday.

Do you actually mean to tell me that I am somehow related to this ghastly "Mad-Eye" fellow? Good heavens, Mister Pettigrew, this is not the way I envisioned things going here, having to behave cordially to an auror.
Mister Moody, Let's make the best of a bad situation, shall we? I need you, you need me. Let's try to forget the past and work together on this. What do you say, good chap?

Watch who you're calling ghastly, sonny boy, your skin is more translucent than half the ghosts I've met.
There's no way I'm actually related to this fop. Whatever cockamamie scheme you've cooked up here, Pettigrew, I ain't buyin it.
I'll be keeping my eye closely on you, Pyrites. Fortunately for you, I'm looking for a new confidential source anyways. Last one ended up in an infinite time loop and thinks he's a screaming whelp now, so he's pretty much useless.

-mutters under breath- and I'll be "keeping your eye" in my pocket when I gouge it out in your sleep.
*ahem* Well jolly good then, Mister Moody. Join me for a glass of brandy, will you? Let's toast to a bright future!
When would be a marvelous time for you to join me in partaking in this challenge?

Even with your ridiculous choice of font colour against this black background, I caught that. I was going to make a threat about what I would do to you if you try that dark blue colour again, but apparently Pettigrew will kick me out for that. Idiot rodent.
A glass of brandy to toast, eh? You'll have to try better than that to poison me, Pyrites. I'll toast with my own trusted flask, thank you very much.
As for this challenge, I can be flexible. Today is fine for me as long as it's within the next 12 hours or so. For tomorrow and Sunday, the morning hours in this realm's time zone will work better for me. I'll be a bit preoccupied in the afternoons, but possibly available in the evenings. And you?

That was meant to come out red! Did you swap my usual ink which is the blood of my enemies to actual ink, Mister Moody? You dreadful swine. Luckily for you that Mister Pettigrew is here. I jolly well don't take too kindly to threats, Mister Moody.
My sincerest apologies that I wasn't around for the last 8 or so hours, but as one of the most ravashing individuals that anybody has had the good fortunes to lay eyes on, I must have my beauty sleep. I should be around nearly all evenings on board time. But not really during the day as much.
Maybe I will grab my bins and see if you're about tonight and we can take from there, good sir?

I didn't touch your bloody ink...blood. Disgusting but resourceful, I suppose.
Anyways, you dandy of a wizard, I may be grizzled but I have my own time consuming self-care routines as well. I'm about to go soak my stump of a leg. Thank your friends for that wonderful body modification. I can likely make it back for a bit after that if you want to try to knock this out tonight, or we can schedule something a bit more officially for tomorrow? This counting business seems like it'll be a drag.

Ahh yes, the good old limb makeover. My acquaintances are specialists at it. I will pass on your kudos.
I should be about in the night either tonight or tomorrow night (board time), so whatever works for you, Mister Moody.

When you say night, Pyrites, how late we talking? Gonna be hard in general for me to be around during the main times here. I can stick around for the next couple hours or so. Or I can get here really late - say 1 AM or so. At my best at those wee hours of the morning. It's when people tend to get up to the most trouble.

My daily tea intake keeps me up until about 4am (board time) so anytime before that will be tickety-boo.

Anyways I'll be around in about an hour if you are. Otherwise I'm sure we can make tomorrow night work. It's only 20 minutes after all.

Not a bother to me, good sir. I understand these things. When the Dark Lord himself requires my assistance, I am at his beck and call.
I think tomorrow night will be a pleasant time to attempt such activities. I think it would be rather delightful to try this at say 1am tomorrow?
Any strategies you would like to go over, Mister Moody. Obviously, we want to keep each other in whatever world this is that Mister Pettigrew has concocted. Given that we are from other sides of the wizarding world, do you think the tribes will be split into good vs evil?

Yeah, and funnily enough my busiest times tend to line up when you lot are at his beck and call. Shocker, eh?
I'll make 1am tomorrow work. Should be simple enough, assuming that Death Eaters like you know how to count.
Good ask about strategy. The first rule to this is CONSTANT VIGILANCE, Pyrites! Ears and nose to the ground, there is information to be gleaned all around us about our enemies and what they will be up to. Even though I can't remember a bloody thing, seems like you and I have a connection and should be the only people we dare to trust around here. I know most of your Death Eater pals, at least by name, if not...personally, and these Order members are nothin' to sneeze at either.
I originally assumed we'd be separated into those groups, yeah. Give us a chance to knock out a plan, then separate us and have us keep each other informed on the goings on. But the House Point system including a bit about voting together has held me up a bit. If we're separated, we can't vote together, so why bother having it top at the list? Also wondering if there are gonna be more items than just those Hidden Immunities, and whether there might be clues laying about as to how we can snag some of those for ourselves. Seems we are incentivized to be selfless and play items on others, which means your lot are probably not going to rack up any of those points.

Apologies for the rather quiet day in here, Mister Moody. My weekends are usually filled to the brim with various quidditch related responsibilities.
Some very interesting thoughts there, Mister Moody. Maybe you Aurors aren't complete imbeciles after all?
You do make a good point that us Death Eaters can be rather selfish at times. However, my need to not be a frightful bore overrides that. Playing an immunity on one's self would be a bit dull to say the least. I want chaos and anarchy, Mister Moody. I would want to play these hidden advantages on some other lucky soul, even if Mister Pettigrew wasn't incentivising me to do so. Before all that though, I'm going to need to be the one that finds one of these items. I know some of these other Death Eater chaps are quite acomplished at locating objects of desire.
Nevertheless, I'll shall see you at 1am for some fun counting.

Hrmph, don't worry about that. Quidditch, eh? Didn't peg you as the type to get aggressive on a broom, Pyrites. Beater was always my preferred position.
You want chaos and anarchy, and support a dark wizard who wants to control things? Sure, that lines up. But I get your point.
Anyways, I'm around now, so let's get this settled and talk more afterwards if you'll be around before our day 0 comes to a close.

Yes sir, I am about. Full disclosure, Mister Moody. Behind the mask, if you will, I'm not exactly the world's greatest challenge competitor. Would you be willing to take the lead on this challenge and we can discuss back and forth in the challenge thread? Any strategies for this worth noting?

Of course I get stuck with a deadweight. Yea, alright, I can handle the logistics and keep an eye on our time. Was just rereading that bit anyways.
Not sure if there are any major strategies here. Feel like maybe we should each always focus on one of the two object types in the picture? Like you can always count the A thing and me the B thing to start, we post our answers when we get 'em. if they're far apart, easy. If they're pretty close, maybe we switch and take the other to be safe and double check our work. Makes it sound like it's going to get trickier as we go. And if you finish counting yours before the other person, start counting the other one to get a leg up on that double check. That all sound straightforward enough? I can handle the trigger phrases when we're ready to move on.

Going to switch to white ink for now to save time.
