![:lumos](https://i.imgur.com/6QU1N5T.gif) Accio Alastor 'Mad-Eye' Moody! Time has unfrozen and you're back on the correct Side of the War. Day 1 is already on the verge of Day 2, with so much Game lying ahead! If you haven't done so already, please check out all the new threads in The Three Broomsticks (the official Welcome thread, Proboards for Trolls, Ominoculars), you Side Board (another Welcome thread) and especially your Diary Journal (Owl Post, Switch and Flick). Otherwise, go meet your Side Buddies! Then feel free to check back in and enlighten us on these points: 1. How do you think Day 0 went for you? Do you know much about how the other Pureblood vs Order pairings fared? 2. How are you finding Grimauld Place? Were you expecting this kind of setup? 3. What are your first impressions of your new Side Buddies? And what impression are you aiming to give them? 4. What influence do the PBvO pairs have on your Game now that they've all been split between the Sides? Do you expect the Owl Post or Flick and Switch twists to change that? 5. Finally, do you have indications yet of how a first Vote might go? How about any plans or longer-term strategies for surviving on this Side?

![](https://i.imgur.com/8vxYeub.png) I'll get to the questions later, Pettigrew, but don't think I hadn't noticed this parchment is a different shape now. And I distinctly remember the word "switch" being visible somewhere before. CONSTANT VIGILIANCE.

Alright, reckon I'm in a good enough state to answer these questions now. Balancing this time zone is already confusing the hell out of me, and I'm really wondering how much that's going to impact who bonds with who. Like right now, the order members online other than me are: Aberforth, Dung, Figg, and Kingsley. The four people Dedalus asked me to give a rundown of as the ones who don't stand out as much.
1. How do you think Day 0 went for you? Do you know much about how the other Pureblood vs Order pairings fared?
Lucius Malfoy and Oliver Wood
Barty Crouch Jr and Lily Potter
Regulus Black and Arabella Figg
Alecto Carrow and Mundungus Fletcher
Igor Karkaroff and Aberforth Dumbledore
Pyrites and Alastor 'Mad-Eye' Moody
Rodolphus Lestrange and Fleur Delacour
Travers and Kingsley Shacklebolt
Hedwig's Killer and Nymphadora Tonks
Corban Yaxley and Dedalus Diggle
^ Pair list so I stop looking at the main post and have a record.
Everyone's kept pretty tightlipped about their pairs, at least if anything exciting happened. Diggle said his just talked about liking to murder people, and Fleur mentioned her partner was key in getting two of their three answers in the Day 0 challenge. Fleur definitely seems to be most interested in who won that Day 0 challenge.
Didn't necessarily like being right in that Day 0 challenge about how Pyrites and I were less talkative than the average. Doesn't spark a great sense of camaraderie with the partner aspect of it all. But he did make it very clear that he had a busy weekend, so I can rest easy knowing that the blame lay in him, not me. Me, on the other hand. I set an alarm to be awake to do that challenge at 8 am, which is early for me. Dedication. And my computer literally crashed, like completely restarted, about 2 min in. A fun 20 min, in all.
2. How are you finding Grimauld Place? Were you expecting this kind of setup?
Died of shock. What do you mean you separated all the partners and made the tribes Order vs Death Eater?! Who would ever do that?!
That was sarcasm. I completely expected it. Glad Sirius's mother's portrait didn't manage to join us though. I'll say you gave me a pause about whether we'd split like this with the house point system having that bit about voting together. Makes me wonder how early a swap could be coming too. Gotta have opportunities to vote together in order to do so. Also a double elimination off the bat is evil but also the mainstay in Stranded at this point, so I get it. Forces us to be active and plot, and usually gets rid of someone unimportant.
3. What are your first impressions of your new Side Buddies? And what impression are you aiming to give them?
Hefty question.
Fleur and Diggle are the most talkative to me so far (10 and 9 replies respectively), and they are the two I've definitely had the most open conversations with so far. Fleur is going to be a star in this, that's clear, and I will be hitching my horse to that French carriage. The more I can prioritize that relationship, the better. And she likes substance and dimension over fluff and one note schticks, from what we've said to each other. The issue down the road with Fleur is she's going to be in good with everyone, not just me. So I need to lock it down with her sooner rather than later. As for Diggle, I think he's shaping up to be my real confidante of the Order. I don't know that he made the best impression with anyone else, but I've gotten a good bit out of him, so that's encouraging.
Next tier would be the likes of Lily, Tonks, and Shacklebolt (7, 6, 6 replies. Not huge into message counts but this early on it's important). Of them, I'm certainly the most positive on Lily. Her messages are short and sweet, but they contain a good amount of substance. I see some potential there. Not sure that she/Diggle mesh very well though, so I need to be cognizant of that. Tonks is...well I'm not sure what to think about Tonks. I love the character and am not thrilled with the portrayal (seriously, not even a "Wotcher", I just...), but there's more than that. She's repeated herself (and me) in basically every exchange we've had so far: energetically talks about how great the team is, spits my own phrase back at me in full agreement, then talks about Quidditch (does she even know what broom she owns? In the OOTP, she's still riding a Comet 260. God I'm a nerd). But other people seem to like her, and she's responsive, so I'll hold my tongue for now and go with it. Shacklebolt is also not quite what I expected but in a funnier way. And after Diggle called himself Sad eye and Kingsley called himself Glad eye, I can't get away from the idea of the three of us working together long term. But, he's been a bit more absent with others from what it sounds like, and I'm not sure how much I can stick my neck out this early.
That leaves Aberforth (5), Dung (4), Wood (3), and Figg (3). Let's talk about Wood first.
EVERYONE FUCKING LOVES WOOD?! WHY?! All people are telling me is that he's talkative, engaging, etc etc etc. Everyone singing Wood's praises. Meanwhile, I've barely heard from the bloke, and it's been like reading what Quidditch through the Ages would read like if James Joyce wrote it. I've been telling everyone and their mother that I, of course, love Wood too. Who wouldn't? But it's LIES! He's DANGEROUS!!!! And I WILL be finding out WHY he's been doing so well with the rest. Got my eye on you, Wood...
As for the others, Dung showed up late but as far as I can tell is about as spot on in his character impression as Fleur while throwing actual substance in there to boot. Into that. Hoping he stays tonight, though I'm not sure where the vote's going - more on that later. Aberforth's messages are short, but I got one while writing this where he told me he thinks Tonks/Wood are in an alliance because Wood told Aberforth that Tonks likes Aberforth. The bluntness made me laugh, and I'm looking forward to responding as paranoid Moody and feeding into it. Figg hasn't responded to me in about 24 hours, even though I saw her online earlier. Not into that.
4. What influence do the PBvO pairs have on your Game now that they've all been split between the Sides? Do you expect the Owl Post or Flick and Switch twists to change that?
I think as long as PBvO pairs can't really talk (and it'll take a few rounds minimum before any can, with the floo network down), it's not going to be much of an influence now. The Owl Post is interesting, but I don't think it's going to be used very effectively until we get a switch or swap. I suppose once we build some trust between people in our own groups, the Owl Post could be used to complexly pass messages to your partner through an intermediary, but without knowing the dynamics between everyone over there, that'd be risky.
The Flick and Switch, now that's interesting. Mine was a no brainer. Seems fun, I'll do it. It'd be a really fun experience to save your partner from being voted out and ending up over with that group. It also might be a death sentence, but what's an org without some fun risks. Pyrites better not get himself voted out though. It's not even about saving him as much as it'd be a good time to play as Moody among all the death eaters and see if I could survive that. It would also be fun if tonight is just a double switch and then the twist is over and we didn't even eliminate people. I'll be keeping the thinking simple (unless a cross tribal strategy is concocted somehow where I'm involved) and just be choosing switch every time. More fun that way. Then again, sometimes I second guess myself and think if Pyrites is voted out first, is it really worth switching my ass to keep a first boot around? Hm. Maybe I'll change it closer to deadline. We'll see how I'm feeling and how much I watch the activity of who's online. All the PB players look active enough too.
5. Finally, do you have indications yet of how a first Vote might go? How about any plans or longer-term strategies for surviving on this Side?
Hrmph. I've heard four names all floating about - Dung, Aberforth, Figg, and Kingsley. Hearing multiple names is good, means I should be okay at any rate. But for me, I'd like to push it to Figg tonight. Unfortunately, Diggle and I might be the only ones to feel that way. Aberforth seems to want to target Kingsley, but thinks Dung has the heat. Kingsley would be fine targeting Dung or Aberforth. So it could be a mess.
Long term I think I'll be looking to Fleur and Diggle as primary allies, potentially with people like Lily and Shacklebolt, and possible Tonks or Dung. I'll keep it flexible. I have just one rule: CONSTANT VIGILANCE!
