Well that was certainly an eventful night! ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) And the week has only just begun! 1. What just happened at Magical Council!? Were you surprised? What do you think caused it? Did you truly think you'd be leaving? 2. How do you feel about each of your original Side Buddies, coming out of Malfoy Manor? What was the state of the Side dynamics when they disbanded, and what do you think would have happened next had you remained together? 3. But now you're in a new Side with a new combination of players - congratulations on reaching this milestone! ![;D](http://i.imgur.com/FVUId1j.png) What are your first reactions? Were you expecting a Swap? Who are you excited to get to know, and who will you be approaching with trepidation? 4. How are you looking to secure your future on your new Side? Do you think you will be in danger? 5. Who on the other Side do you think could run into trouble? Is there anyone there you hope to be (re)united with in a future phase of the game? 6. How do you think the impact of twists like Switch and Flick, Owl Post, and Hidden Immunity Items will change now that you're in new Sides?

I truly hate your challenges. And your instructions. I'm surrounded by idiots.
Yaxley fucked us up hard by putting so many identical blocks on one another. We lost already given that none of our posts will count?
Then the instructions for where to post our intermittent builds was confusing? It sounded like it was meant to be the Instructions/Inventory thread but we can't post there. Nothing was said about making our own challenge thread, and yet half the people seemed to only post their start and end which sounds to me like it was wrong, meaning that Yax and Kingsley added more than 5 blocks at a time. Which is MORE penalties.
Crouch is halfway smart at least? Maybe? Unless he and I are both wrong.
And what happens if everyone in the Side participates before deciding a prefect? Are we no longer allowed to submit one? Your rules are not only weirdly inconsistent with plenty of room for exceptions that you refuse to explain or answer direct questions about, but they allow for instances where sides can absolutely break themselves without realizing it. You should either be insisting on a prefect decision before anyone starts the challenge, or deciding one randomly in the event a side does not pick.
The current method only serves as a mass inconvenience, and it punishes people as a baseline rather than punishing them for actively doing something wrong.
Like... idk dude. I really respect what you've put together here, and I admire the ambition, but I would probably be considering quitting at this point if I didn't respect you as a person. And I don't quit games.

How do you think the impact of twists like Switch and Flick, Owl Post, and Hidden Immunity Items will change now that you're in new Sides? 1. Lucius lost his marbles, and found them way up in Pyrites butt. I was not surprised, I'd been informed of all the component parts, but it was surprising that Lucius wasted his fucking idol on Pyritess. Surprising and hilarious. I hope he enjoys the house points though. No, I didn't think I was leaving, but I did somewhat hope because seriously fuck Malfoy Manor.
2. No seriously, Fuck Malfoy Manor. Pyrites should have gone, and then information swirls around and we figure out which side of the fence Lucius wanted to end up on. If that worked for me, then go with it because I'm chill this game (I swear). If it didn't work for me, I had a backup and could probably target Lucius without him knowing. Except for Karkaroff fucking it up because he's a numpty. Honestly what an absolute rube. He had a golden ticket to the prime position just like me and he threw it away so he could be exactly 4th in two different alliances lol. ok.
3. My first reactions are that I hate losing Black, I hate not being with better Order members, I hate not being with Tonks because then I could just hitch to her wagon and not care. But I can work with Lily/Crouch at least maybe? and rebuild something with Yax/Karkaroff. Kingsley also doesn't suck but that could just be new conversation smell affecting me. Anything's better than what I've had.
4. That is a trick question.
5. I hope Pyrites goes but he's probably so useless that he's a F2 lock at this point lol.
6. I think that they will affect the game in ways that cause the game to be different by their inclusion.

I really respect what you've put together here, and I admire the ambition, but I would probably be considering quitting at this point if I didn't respect you as a person. And I don't quit games. When people began posting each step in the public thread rather than their private Challenge threads we saw that the instructions were ambiguous in one place (though it was clearly stated elsewhere that you needed to first work in your private thread, then repost the final image to the public one). We suspected it would cause a ripple effect of other players seeing it and believing that's what they were meant to do, but also could not interfere with a correction as there was no guarantee a Minister would be able to respond if/when the same thing happened on the other Side. Nor could we issue a general warning, as the Sides no longer had equal number of players yet to build, and we needed to give everyone equal opportunity to dig themselves into holes ![:P](http://images.proboards.com/new/tongue.png) So even though we planned to allow any building completed in either thread within the time limit, we had to let everyone stew in the confusion they'd exacerbated until the deadline. Ideally there wouldn't be a main host editing on thee hours' sleep without other co-hosts to proofread but yesterday was not an ideal day. So I made the best call I could to keep things fair, and I stand by it. I can understand your frustration in the moment (and shared it to a certain extent), but I hope you can appreciate in hindsight that we handled it as best we could. The Prefect rules really aren't meant to be confusing. They're straightforward and they work, when people remember it's something they must consider. We can't have people play the Challenge and then tell everyone to make them the tiebreaker or not based on how they fared. And everyone needs to have the chance to volunteer or step back whatever their timezone, even if they can only arrive at the board after others have had to play the Challenge and depart for the round. So in a non-live game this is the most practical method to appoint somebody as the tiebreaking player. Anyone can post there if they feel confident before they begin, and anyone yet to play can confirm or overrule. The one Challenge Malfoy Manor didn't appoint a Prefect for was also the one where everyone was free to discuss it even while the Challenge was ongoing, with all its details known to everyone. I'm also being as open as I can be about the details of rules, trying to stay on top of questions while also occasionally sleeping. And while I won't assert everything has been perfect all the time, almost everything is working as intended and I don't see this mechanic in particular as either inconsistent or broken.
