1st Place and Winner of the ORG of the Phoenix:
Prime Minister for Magic Corban Yaxley Played by Vamaar"Well, Yaxley's along for the ride even if his internal monologue is screaming he wants to get off Mr. Bones' wild ride."
"This Mutual ID thing that I've been completely devaluing for weeks has suddenly and irrevocably changed my game."
"Today might be shorter than usual. (This wound up being a lie.)" Peter Pettigrew Vamaar, Prime Minister for Magic and Phoenix King! You reached out to me almost instantly after I posted the advertisement for this, and your enthusiasm for giving it a go was second-to-none, even though you felt certain that your inexperience would quickly work against you. But you showed up, built some of your uncertainties into the roleplay, and eventually proved that however untested they might have been, your Game instincts are top-notch; to play as masterfully as you did from the absolute wrong timezone, in a cast as crazily stacked as this, in only your third ORG is incredible... even aside from winning the thing! And on a personal note, seeing you blossom like this (and ending up as an Official ORG Winner - let that sink in!) has been heartwarming - especially given your comprehensive essays in confessionals and all the game design aspects you picked up on, and which we shall most certainly discus properly post-game. Having all those things overshadowed by your gameplay and your win is just icing on the cake! You were intentionally slow to ease into the strategy of the Game, and the social connections you were able to establish at Malfoy Manor proved to be far more important and enduring. Even as the likes of Malfoy and Crouch connected by strategising together immediately, everybody valued you and wanted to bring you into their groups, eventually favouring you over many of their initial connections. Your shock at waking up to the blowup before the Swap allowed you to geniunely bond with everyone in the fallout, and by then people were even bringing Diggle into their confidences more because they or their PBvO partners valued you. Come the Merge, you were always in the know but never in control - and while you resented that at times, you maintained that position perfectly while everyone else got caught up in the games of Big Threats and Tall Poppies, so that all you had to do was stay the course and keep your cool. Things got a little dicey when the pairs alliance skewed things toward Lily/Crouch and that that cost you your Diggle but also opened your eyes to the Game that needed to be played from behind the layer of friendships, a turning point that allowed you to knife Crouch even though you only survived Final Five because he couldn't do the same to you, outplay Lily despite finally bonding deeply with her (over your shared sanity, no less ) and work the Wizengamot into your favour. I know you're not super familiar with Survivor, but what you said at the Final Magical Council was absolutely correct - if everyone else is doing their job right, the flashier players will get taken out just shy of the end. And while the Big Moves are sometimes enough to cement a win, the most skilled players are ones who don't always need them because they're able to play consistently, balancing relationships with their moves and their threat levels, never needing to shake things up when they can just gently adjust their course and ride that momentum to the finish. You weren't always in control, but nobody who was ever saw the need (or had the killer instinct) to take you out - and that was enough. Congratulations! Dolores Umbridge I knew it was only a matter of time before you won an ORG, but I never expected it to be this soon! I am so freaking proud of you- and yes, I am going to immediately take credit for discovering you and bringing you into the world of ORGs. You may have started things out with a busy schedule here, but it really didn't hinder you all that much, despite it you easily found yourself well positioned at the Manor, in the core of three, but also well respected by the rest. Perfectly positioned. Right from the beginning I pegged you as the dark horse of the game, and so it's validating to see you in this position right now. You always remained cool, calm, collected, and never panicked, and I believe those attributes contributed a huge amount to getting you to the end. On top of that, your challenge beasting was super impressive too- especially that F4 tiebreaker which was deadly, and the FIC which you cleverly anticipated with the wands. You simply rose to the challenge and fought to the end, and are an incredibly deserving winner on all accounts. Maybe you weren't flashy, but you never needed to be, and shouldn't need to be. Your confessional was fantastic too, the way you'd casually pontificate about ORGing and gaming in general, on top of your genuinely honest thoughts and frustrations. I hope you never lose that! It may be officially your third game- but in my eyes, the Vamaar that first stepped into the world of ORGs in 2008 is finally getting the victory he ought to have had then. Apologies for the sentimentality, but it must be said. Congratulations.

Actually I should've realised it after the TI comment. You'll see that in the gallery after the board opened up. That was the comment that would've gotten my vote...
