What a ridiculous farce this entire shipping challenge is! And yet I do find myself trying to decipher who is fronting and who is actually pushing a couple that they believe in. Lots of guesswork when it comes to that, looking forward to seeing the truth of it all.

Short summary of where the Sides stand, because I don't have time to do a more detailed one for the blogs ![:P](http://images.proboards.com/new/tongue.png) Malfoy Manor has been utter chaos since the start. You have a few strong presences who are all attempting to amass influence and the result is a series of overlapping alliances and group PM chains, with everyone promising loyalty to everyone in one place but also leaving everybody out of the loop in another place. Lucius was the one pushing for various structures the hardest and the earliest but everyone has taken note of that so I'm not actually sure whether he's in the best spot long-term. Crouch and Yaxley are most closely linked to him right now because of a few (!) PMs accidentally sent to incorrect groups exposing some of the fault lines. Karkaroff and Hedwig's Killer are also pulling different factions together with varying success, and I'm not sure if even they know to whom they plan to be loyal. And while there's been a consensus next boot for a little while, everyone is on edge and worried that a move against them is already set up for the following vote, so they ought to be changing something up sooner rather than later. Grimauld Place has been more structured and generally quieter, with a core of the more active players solidifying rather early. Aberforth was actually in that on the first day, but checked in less and less frequently as time wore on, so there was some drama over whether to cut him loose once he was missing Challenges when his loyalty was probably more assured than Mundungus or Kinsley, who know their lower activity levels had them on the outs early on and still aren't convinced they've broken in. When players go a morning without receiving Owl Post, we've been giving them sections of a clue instead that leads on a long and tricky hunt for the Hidden Immunity Item. The Order Members hilariously all sent letters to the same Death Eaters on the first Day, meaning that most of Malfoy Manor got clue pieces to trade. And the players who cracked each step the quickest have been pretending to work on it with everyone else at different points and paces - but it's been going on for long enough that it's exposed some of the lines and is a big factor in the current discontent and paranoia. Grimauld Place has received fewer clues and been slower to put them together, but that stopped mattering once the Death Eaters started trying to explain the process to their partners (indirectly, for you can't send Owl Post to your PBvO partner) and letting some of them skip to the last step. That information has done the rounds like a game of broken telephone simultaneously with the clue sharing that is the first step, and right now you have multiple players still pretending to work on the early stages, while they already know all the answers, and also know that the people they're 'working with' know the answers, but neither is certain that the other knows that they know. And because the Item goes to the second player to complete all the tasks, the closest connections are now all riddled with doubt not just because somebody is probably hiding the fact that they have the Item, but because they couldn't be hiding it alone - and so all the presumed number one besties now presume otherwise. Also, Malfoy Manor has convinced themselves that there's never going to be a Side swap based on the mechanics of the various twists. Grimauld Place is certain one is coming tonight with fifteen players to split into three new Sides ... ![:-X](http://images.proboards.com/new/lipsrsealed.png)

Very surprising to see an idol used, and right on the eve of the swap, no less! Credit to Pyrites for managing to get an idol played on him, if Lucius felt this was a fine use of his idol then I suppose all the more power to him.
For anyone who is late to the fray: note that the forum ID is 24 rather than 26 for that council. Simply change that digit in the URL provided in Peter's post in order to view the council. Don't be a confused simpleton about it.

Would you believe it's taken me this long to catch everything up? Busy busy busy day on the board, and some absurd Challenge screw-ups aren't helping ![:P](http://images.proboards.com/new/tongue.png) Some inside knowledge on that last Magical Council: Pyrites was the consensus target for most of the week in Malfoy Manor. Narrowly avoided elimination when Travers got his DNF in a Challenge, and since then the only thing all the various overlapping interests had in common was that Pyrites goes first. But people were starting to catch on to the trio of Lucius/Yaxley/Crouch being at the center of everything and likely beating the others to the Hidden Immunity Item. The four outside of that trio (and Pyrites, who again was meant to be out of the pictures) started comparing notes and came together with an intention of flipping the script on the trio, once they were 4 of 7 (after Pyrites was gone). But Karkaroff thought he could play the middle by telling Lucius about this, then play both sides against the other for a while. Lucius panicked, and refused to trust that Karkaroff would stick by him. So he revealed to Pyrites that he'd been the target and recruited him for a rock draw with the trio against the others, who still had no reason not to vote Pyrites... until Karkaroff came clean to all of them about what he'd accidentally put into motion. But Yaxley had left a pre-vote on Pyrites and not returned for the madness, and Rodolphus stepped away without expecting any madness, so there weren't numbers for anyone to make a sure flip or even rocks, which nobody was keen to do over Pyrites. So Lucius reckoned he could only get his way and keep the majority on the Side if he played the Item on Pyrites, hence the 3- 5 vote. Right before a Swap. We all thought it would be a boring round before the Swap but of course Malfoy Manor just needed to go out in a blaze of glory ![:fan](https://i.imgur.com/074wyXd.gif) Not sure yet how the new Sides will pan out. There's a Crouch/Lily reunion on one Side and Moody/Pyrites on the other. Death Eaters are all scrambling so anything could happen. I can however share the new twist to the Switch Charm: anyone can now Switch with anyone on the other Side, not just their partner. They just need to name a name, and if that player gets voted out, they'll Switch places instead. And some players are already starting to cotton on to the possibilities that could present.

Damn, I half want to think that the next two votes will both be switches with that. I am very surprised it hasn't come up yet.

Gah, I've fallen so behind with work and the weekend lately. But these indepth updates are amazing. So obsessed with everyone from OG malfoy manor just because of what a hot mess it was. Reading all that stuff about the alliances and then also the crazy game of telephone with the idol clues.. well, I'm glad we are watching it and not living it ourselves. ![:P](http://images.proboards.com/new/tongue.png) And then you add the headache of the switch to it, which is hot.

the sheer amount of work that the Department of Mysteries has put into this challenge has me rooting for their victory. It would be disappointing if they strained their eyes for naught.
Pyrites getting an idol played on him as well as Switch charm means that he's officially on his third life. How many more can he scrounge up?

Fourth, actually ![:P](http://images.proboards.com/new/tongue.png) He was the consensus target before Travers got the DNF and gave the okay for everyone to vote him out instead. We're all rooting for DoM in the blogs but with a lot of cringe because their 10-second-per-post plan is wildly unfeasible with our 10-second flood control and tbound to go horribly wrong.

Pyrites cockroach KING, we bow to thee! He is also perfectly sweet and does not deserve all this ire. ![:cry](http://imgur.com/Gh2UmYT.gif) And clearly FATE agrees since it has intervened several times to save him. You probably can't infer much from the tribal/posts, but that was also a huge breakout ep for one Regulus Black. Messy legend who also barely survived that tribal. Kingsley made the switch there to save himself from a tricky spot (very clever move too), but Regulus is convinced it's because of an Owl Post letter he sent him like several rounds ago. ![:<3](http://i.imgur.com/L3NpwEv.gif) And to be fair, sending Owl Posts to perceived outsiders on the other side was very smart to curry favour in a switch, but his interpretation of these events is off lol. So he is greeting Kingsley like a long lost friend in an insta-alliance, and Kingsley is like um... ok! ![:<3](http://i.imgur.com/L3NpwEv.gif)

This challenge is amazing. I don't know how you keep finding the niche things that I've read, watched or played in the past and regurgitating them here but I am loving it. I once tried to do a live re-enactment of this song with 6 people and it did not work easily...
I really want to see the Daily Prophet win this because they have so much planning but also 10 seconds??? At least make it 11 geez...
