Welcome to the Gallery, those who watch from within the walls! And thank you all for signing-up to follow The ORG of the Phoenix! Why are the portraits of great and/or fictional witches and wizards past straining to look through their frames to see what's happening in the real fictional world? I mean, if all goes according to plan there's going to be plenty to entertain you ![:)](http://images.proboards.com/new/smiley.png) and an endless supply of butterbeer on the house! There's also some formal stuff you need to know: All the main rules that apply to the cast are in play for Lurkers also. A few differences are: - You cannot PM anyone except the hosts. - You cannot " Like" anything at all outside of this board. - No signatures which express support or disdain for particular contestant/s. - Everything revealed here needs to stay on this board. That's the tradeoff for getting details that some players don't know, and which can't be posted in the more generic updates on other sites. Basically, you can express all your thoughts from extreme stanning to obnoxious tantrums or aggressive apathy, whatever. Just so long as you do it on this board only, and there's no chance of any player seeing it before the game is over. The sole exception to the rule that you may not even chance any kind of tiny influence on the game is that there will be two Challenges coming up where your direct participation will be valued. For now just note the dates - the 10th and 24th of May, both Tuesdays - and await more details as we get closer ![;)](http://images.proboards.com/new/wink.png) The other important thing to note is that you are all of course Closed-ID. All of the anonymity rules apply to you as strictly as they do to the players, especially as many of them may expect to find some of you in the game rather than lurking. If you're unsure what this means or what it entails, feel free to ask. Also, you cannot speculate about IDs or be in contact with anyone playing in the game. This part of the ruleset is even more important than usual this season, as some of the players have requested some of you as potential BvW partners and finding out that you're here instead could undermine the Mutual ID Reveal they're all working to earn. You'll note that the other hosts are staying Closed-ID for the same reason. That's all for now. We'll do our best to keep you updated, and also broaden your view as more parts of the board open up. If you think something is missing, I'm sure you'll feel free to complain. Now please sit back and enjoy watching the game unfold!

Here's what you've missed: - The cast got their logins on Thursday evening. And from then we had an extended Day 0 over the weekend. - All players were confined to their private Diary Journal boards for confessionals, plus a special Floo Network fireplace where they and their Pureblood vs Order partner could chat freely. Some pairs took advantage of this more than others, and we've had some hilarious banter. Though the highlight was one pair who spent most of the weekend in a heated argument with both claiming that the other has treated them awfully, but kind of bonding over how little they both want to work together ![:lol](https://i.imgur.com/X4ixXao.gif) - They also had a counting Challenge to try playing together during this time. Kind of a bonding-through-adversity kind of thing, for most of them. - Right now they don't know each other's IDs, even though they all submitted preference lists for partners during casting and know we promised to do our best to make the best matches possible for everyone. - They've been told about a House Points system where they can gain points by completing various tasks throughout the game. Any pair who reaches 100 House Points earns a Mutual ID Reveal and will regain access to their Floo Network board, even if they're still on separate tribes. One pair was able to earn their first 10 House Points by winning the Challenge. - At 8:30pm tonight we shut down the Floo Networks and split each pair across two tribes, separating the Order members from the Death Eaters. And the rest you can see on the boards! Because the Floo Networks won't be available to you, I'm going to quote the full text of their welcome posts etc below. Just in case you want to read up on these things. Welcome to Day Zero: House Points: Opening Challenge: You can see the full list of pairings in the main Welcome Thread, plus a summary of the twists in play for now.

Thank you for the catch-up! Quite an intriguing set-up all in all, I do enjoy how they are unsure of whom they are even matched with. Should muddy the waters compared to your usual trifling and standard take on the subject.
Hedwig's Killer is the most worthy competitor thus far.

Ohhh, I love this twist with the pair ID's. Very interesting take on things! Only the best, most chivalrous ones, will prevail, I'm sure. I love that some pairs may not end up finding out who they were with until the cast reveal at the very end!

It's all part of the fun We're trying to make this operate like a proper BvW Survivor season where the loved ones are completely separated for the first phase of the game, with no way to communicate directly... while also incentivising everyone to stay loyal to their partners. And part of the experiment is watching everyone take it in totally different directions. Already we have a three players (all from the Death Eater side, funnily enough) who have locked in FLICK (i.e. they wouldn't switch tribes to save their partner from being voted out), expressing skepticism in confessional that anyone would ever pick anything else. And another three (all Order Members) locking in SWITCH and questioning us to see whether they've missed something, because it seems too obvious a decision.

Lol omg I love that. People falling into their arbitrarily assigned roles ![:<3](http://i.imgur.com/L3NpwEv.gif) I get the hesitation since in theory you could switch and then you and your partner are both screwed, whereas if you were to flick, at least you could keep on keeping on in your own way if you are well set up on your Side. I still love that apparently one pair was fighting during Day 0? That is so amazing, rooting for whichever it is automatically. I do think this is very interesting and a new take on things. It's more accurate to the real show because in ORGs I've only ever seen it that pairs can openly communicate all game. This will definitely offer a new dynamic and perhaps put a hold on those pesky "pairslliances" that seem to dominate most BvW orgs.

Yeah we workshopped all kinds of options, but in the end it felt like having secret-pairs-like forums open all game was kind of a concession to the fact that Open-ID pairs can always talk off-site anyway, so it's safer to just give them that option on the board. And we will be doing that for them if/when they earn their Mutual ID Reveals... we've just rigged things so that it can't happen too early, and there'll inevitably be some conflict when pairs reunite after forming different bonds on their own rather than both of them coordinating plans in lockstep from the start. Throw in some opportunities to help one another or communicate indirectly along the way (Owl Post is only the first) and you have a broad range of possibilities. Should be fun ![:)](http://images.proboards.com/new/smiley.png)

Ok, Hedwig's Killer is repidly becoming extremely liked by me. If they can keep up this energy the entire game I will easily stan them.

The Day 0 fight was iconic. Waiting for confirmation from Peter if I can reveal who they were, but going from a muted introduction, to a giant misunderstanding/argument, then mutually shitting on each other in confessional, then a "Starting Fresh" thread where they cleared the air and made up, just too good. ![:<3](http://i.imgur.com/L3NpwEv.gif) And like there was zero stimuli to cause any conflict whatsoever? ![:lol](https://i.imgur.com/X4ixXao.gif) All with barely 24 hours of play too.

All I know about myself is that I've fought in too many wars and can't cast a Patronus Charm unlike Salazar SlytherinThis memory charm must have hit us portaits too. Perhaps I should consult a history book.

I can confirm that the fighting pair was Lucius/Wood. It's endlessly fascinating because by the end they were both excited about having overcome more adversity than any other pairing, ostensibly making them strong moving forward... even though it was self-inflicted ![:lol](https://i.imgur.com/X4ixXao.gif) And Pyrites is typing in the blood of his enemies, obviously ![8-)](http://images.proboards.com/new/cool.png) (Except for the times where he accidentally posts in navy blue and nobody can read it.)

Good first challenge. Would love to see the challenge questions once the round is over. We'll open the board up to you guys once the Challenge deadline has passed. I can also show you the tasks from the Day 0 counting Challenge if anyone wants to torture themselves with those?
