Welcome to the Owlery! Here you can send and receive letters from other players who are too far away to contact via a Patronus Missive. Here's how it works: - Once every day, you may write one letter to a player of your choice from the opposing Side. These letters will be delivered with breakfast, as is traditional. - Due to an unfortunate exclusivity clause in our Floo Contracts, you can never send a letter to your Pureblood vs Order partner. - You also cannot send your letters to the same player twice in a row, because Owls get easily bored of repeating the same flight paths. - There is a weight limit for all letters, as many of our Owls are small and overworked. Therefore letters which are longer than 2000 characters shall not be delivered. You can check the length of your letter at wordcounter.net/character-count which uses some strange Muggle magic to approximate parchment length and weight. - Once you post a letter in this thread, we will begin processing it immediately and accept no other letter in its place for the current round. Not even if you spot a typo. The deadline for Owl Post is exactly 12 hours apart from the Challenge deadlines. To send a letter you must post it in this thread before 8:30am AEST, and the Owls will deliver any letters addressed to you soon afterward (within an hour, if not immediately). Because much of magical law and order would collapse without the creatures' cooperation, the Owls have more bargaining power than any union of Muggle postmen and have demanded ORG weekends off - so there shall be no Owl Post on Friday or Saturday. The Owls have also been on an extended strike vacation since late last year, so the starting date for Owl Post in The ORG of the Phoenix has been set for this Tuesday 3 May. Thus, your first Owl Post letters must be posted in this thread before 8:30am AEST this Tuesday. Please use the following format when you post your letters: Note that the date, sender and recipient at the beginning of the letter will not count toward the character limit. If you have any questions about how the Owl Post system works, the Ministers shall gladly answer them for you here. Otherwise, we hope you enjoy the full service of the Owl Post system each day. And do take care not to upset any of the Owls!

Date: Day 3, Tuesday 3 May To: Kingsley Shacklebolt From: Regulus Black Dear Master Shacklebolt I am pleased to be sending you my very first Owl, Kingsley. I hope that you are finding the company tolerable thus far and that the first impressions of those in your midst have been generally positive. I anticipate that there has likely been a relatively brief settling in period and that now the first challenge and magical councils have been announced, that the pace has begun to accelerate? The above is a summation of the situation on this side at least. It isn't my intention to be vague, but having only shared largely greetings and pleasantries based on the source material with 9 others, there is little more to describe. Some have only sent me a single message. Although as I've indicated, people have began asking about each other now. As insecurities seemingly simmer.
I am interested in how dynamics and personalities are beginning to shape the Order? And the impact of these are beginning to have. It has certainly been a mixed bag on this side so far. Thus far I have received insults, jokes, compliments, death threats and indifference in private correspondence.
I am considering how to best utilise the post and have had some thoughts, but no doubt it's use will be impacted by the outcome of the initial and subsequent councils. Whether switch or flick comes into play may be considered, so too House Points and the eventual repair of the Floo Network.
If you would like to communicate a message via me to your partner, or someone else on this side, I am more than happy to oblige. It would be senseless for me to not do so if asked. Particularly as this post travels both ways. Furthermore, I am content to trust your judgement regarding whom you believe it prudent to share this note with.
I wish you luck at the first magical council, Kingsley. I hope that you are able to find safe passage. I'd be honoured if you send me a return owl.
Yours in magic

A flock of owls fly overhead, and not a single one lands in front of you. Still hopeful, you wait and wait... but eventually every owls departs and still you have nothing. Then on the way out of the Great Hall, a scrap of parchment on the floor catches your eye...

Date: Day 4, Wednesday 4 May To: Aberforth Dumbledore From: Regulus Black
Dear Aberforth
I am writing this after my partner, Figg has just withdrawn from the game. I am wondering if she gave any indication as to how she is doing? Spending 3 days together during day 0, we developed quite a connection and I felt we developed a rapport. I'd hoped to properly play together with her in the future. Alas this wasn't to be. I wanted to share with the Order that prior to departure, Alecto shared that she was forced to withdraw as she is currently hospital with a breakthrough case of covid. This has rocked our entire group; nobody wants to be forced out of the game in such a manner. Carrow was very personable and during her short stay, made quite an impression.
Given the timing of the dual removals, our Side collectively soon realised that there would be no council tonight. And as such, the simmering questions appeared to disperse. However, I am aware that it would be naive of me to presume that conversations and plans are not occurring in my absence. But speculating upon the unknown, particularly in a medium such as this letter would be fruitless and would ultimately be a disservice to you. I work during the day and so am not able to be around during these times. And then when I have time off work on weekends, the game does too. So my activity levels have primarily been limited by my schedule, as I'm sure everyone's is.
As I have lost my partner prematurely, I am no longer able to participate in that aspect of the game. But if you would like to communicate a message via me to your partner, or someone else on this side, I am more than happy to oblige. It would be senseless for me to not do so if asked. Particularly as this post travels both ways. Furthermore, I am content to trust your judgement regarding whom you believe it prudent to share this note with.
I wish you luck at the first magical council, Aberforth. I hope that you are able to find safe passage. I'd be honoured if you send me a return owl.
Yours in magic

Date: Day 5, Thursday 5 May To: Mundungus Fletcher From: Regulus Black
Dear Mundungus
I thought it would be worth checking in with you, given we both seem to be partnerless at the moment. Our vote last night was based on Travers being the DNS last night and him volunteering to be voted out essentially soon after. But by that point he hadn't been around for more than the previous 24 hours, so it was a foregone conclusion already. I suppose that means that things are still fluid and although there are some connections being formed, this first week is yet to test them. As dull and uninteresting as that sounds. I'd wager that having yet to face council it's quite the same on your end? I did want to say that Alecto had to leave as she was hospitalized with a breakthrough case of covid. Which doesn't sound good at all. To be honest, she was someone I clicked with naturally. She was definitely in my long term plans. But now I'm reassessing.
Everyone for the most part is remaining'in character' here, which is nice enough. But can take significant extra effort and prep, which I don't always have. So I have been breaking that immersion probably more often than some would like. And to be honest, I can only see my chats and posts being less and less in-character moving forward.
Oh, and the camp here seems to be more focused on the post's parchment scraps. With some of us trying to decipher those and get to the bottom of what they mean.
That is about it from me, as I don't see the point of rambling on to waste your time.
Send a return message if you like. Or... don't, I guess.
Have a good one!

No post until Sunday, correct? Or no post ON Sunday too, as per the iconic quote?

I think the message of that sequence was that contrary to Uncle Vernon's rigid beliefs, there was indeed post on Sunday.
No Owl Post until then, though.

Date: Day 8, Sunday 8 May To: Alastor 'Mad Eye' Moody From: Regulus Black
Dear Alastor
It has come to my attention that you and I are quite alike. We are both misunderstood gentlemen with strong morals and a desire to follow these morals. We are also underrated as wizards with a vast command of the art of magic. Now Alastor, I hope that you are well and that this owl arrives at a convenient time for you. There's nothing more irritating than the grating screech of an overly persistent avian creature after a big night- I know you know what I mean, Moody. I have it on trustworthy testimony that being a Hogwarts professor isn't mutually exclusive with being a raging beast in the rave cave, which is where I expect you were until the wee hours last night big fella.
As far as the game, I apologise if this message prevents you from picking up a scrap of parchment. And I hope that a similar fate doesn't befall you tonight to that of Aberforth, to whom I sent my owl prior to his elimination. Although based upon conversation in our public conversation area, it seems as though Aberforth may have been the victim of not showing up or even completing the challenges. If that is indeed the case, that is an entirely justified reasoning. Much the same informed our vote for Travers. He acknowledged this fact shortly before council, citing a very busy schedule and accepted his fate. Even just about encouraging us to vote him out. Making the conscious decision to self vote.
Having not faced council since then thanks to a strong immunity challenge performance last round, I beat Kingsley 3-0 in case your side has kept results secret. I'm happy to provide you with that info- if anyone challenges you, he only set me 14 spells to cast, which I did with ease, I only had to do 22 character traits for Dobby, again, manageable enough. He said he could do 35 song lines in 5 minutes, but couldn't. Hence the final scoreline.
That's all for now, best wishes in the rave cave you rowdy gent. Hope your weekend has been 🔥🔥🔥

Date: Day 9, Monday 9 May To: Corbin Yaxley From: Regulus Black
Dear Yax
What a surprise, hey?! Caught me off guard too. I don't entirely know what happened before council, but the idol was played. But I'm sure you've been filled in well and truly by now. The way I see it, you are in a fantastic position. There are 4 Pure Bloods and you guys are in the numbers. But you've also got Crouch's partner Potter alongside and Wood too. If our group loses tonight's challenge, the original Order members will almost certainly go on a run and will knock us 3 out in succession. They might not be entirely happy families, but if it makes sense for them to stick together, they will. So I'm asking for a favour, if that's at all possible. Could you guys consider not giving it 100% in the challenge? If you'd rather not, that is entirely fair. But from what I can see, a Kingsley vote would allow you to prevent the original Order members from sweeping the game, would keep your options open as far as cross tribal mingling, while keeping you and Barty in the power seat. I'm happy for you to send any messages you may have to people on this side via me. That's about it, you're a cool guy and if this is our last interaction- just wanted to say it's been a pleasure. Btw, Lucius says he's owling Barty and he's getting Pyrites to owl Woody.
Roll on, big Yax. There are some very reactive players in this game, so your steady hand and composure should set you in good stead

Regulus BlackYou are not allowed to quote from Owl Post to other players; we're treating them like PMs. We'll deal with this after Magical Council, but in the meantime please do not do it again.

Date: Day 11, Wednsday 11 May To: Hedwig's Killer From: Regulus Black Dear HK I left this owl until late this morning, so only have time for a short message, sorry!!
But anyway, I've been keen to touch base with you and hear how you are feeling about things. Things on this side have been relatively okay with majority Mundungus and Pyrites votes. Based seemingly on being the least present overall. But as Pyrites has probably said, Malfoy and my name also were read out at council.
I was caught off guard by the switch last night as I didn't really expect it to come into play- are people on your side actively talking about this?
Facing the first 2 councils has kind of narrowed chats here, without a lot of broader game being discussed- at least with me anyway. I am glad that at least we were able to split up Malfoy & Pyrites as they clearly have a strong connection, as seen by the big idol play.
On this side, your partner Tonks seems cool. We were chatting a bit yesterday and I can see these conversations continuing moving forward. If you have any messages to pass to her, let me know and I can do that.
What was the fallout from the idol council like on your side? You guys have a clear numbers edge now and so I hope that can be reflected in your voting as from what I hear, the original Order people on your side are some big players. But I trust that you'll make the best decision when it comes to it and I back your judgement calls. I hope to link back up together at merge.
Oh, and I haven't received any parchment scraps so far, which wasn't helped by me being banned from Post yesterday.
Sorry this is scattered and brief , I left this note way later than I would have liked
Best wishes mate
