Black is hitting the right points with me and Yax is missing the mark and keeps saying things I don't agree with or are mis-reads. I mean he just said to you that HK had all the Manor wands, but I had Pyrites and Igors (and this is after he apparently made a detailed list of all the wands and stuff before the final challenge (which I expect he did do given how he dominated that challenge)). But he knows that's not true as HK sent Yax all HK's wands on HK's boot. For me it seems Black made 1 pivotal move at each phase of the game: Pre-Swap: The vote on me at the Traver's boot. Post-Swap: Making it look like we were after each other (which we absolutely were not). On that, Fleur Delacour , what did Black tell you when we got to the DoM about the Rudy boot. I ask as when we got to DoM, Black asked me what the hell happened with the vote and I explained that Igor had spilled all the beans and I knew about HK and Rudy's new group. I said I bore him no ill will for being a part of that group and asked if he wanted to go and each other a DoM or call a truce and try to survive together. He chose the latter and I told him he needed to help me by being upfront with Fleur about why I did what I did to Rudy. I said he could just as easily white-ant me on that but then I am likely gone so I asked him to tell her the truth. I didn't think this would make Fleur forgive me for what I did, but I needed her to know that what I told her about what I did was the truth. I assumed that Black told you the truth Fleur given I wasn't immediately booted? Post-Merge: Swapping the vote on me on the revote was absolutely the right move for him. Endgame: Seems like me played in perfectly from about 5 onwards? Zo I rémember thinking that 'e is really t rying tò make it seem like 'e is agáinst you which I think ultìmately 'elped you móre becàuse as I said éarlier, if it went tò a révote I most likely would 'ave switched; whéreas 'ad I known fór a fact that you a re still wórking tògether I would 'ave p robably wórked 'arder in t rying tò make sûre you leave ![:P](http://images.proboards.com/new/tongue.png) It's kìnd of fúnny becàuse I did p robably 'ave a gut reaction that made me vote you at fi rst just in càse you 3 wére voting tògethér agáinst me or Tonks, and if I did that would 'ave been based on something I pìcked up fróm 'im as well, bût I don't want tò ovér emphasize the importance of my original vote becàuse ultìmately 'e did manáge tò tàlk me off fróm targéting you as stróngly as I othérwise would 'ave Thanks it really did seem like Black played the DOM perfectly especially as it’s not like he and I had an agreement to secretly work with each other. We just had a sort of truce and we’re doing our own thing. I feel like his subtle efforts were perfect moves for the whole game with it seemingly like only rounds 6 and 7 being those he was actually in trouble? I’m not going to write him off because yax won him immunity there, especially with the switch and flicks in play.

Final Magical Council - May 30th
Regulus
‘Reggy, consider this vote a dividend returned on your investment in two things. Our relationship and the Traver's vote. That targeted vote defined almost every part of how I played the rest of the game. And you set it up so beautifully. Even before you brought it up at FMC, in my hundreds of missives the one I distinctly remembered the most is the one you referenced about relying on me due to lost allies. It may not be the most important move of the game, but it was the most important one to mine and I think it is just one example of the incredible complex and subtle game you were forced to play from day 1. Well done my friend.'

I mean I get where Yax is coming from. It must suck to make ftc and then have someone dismiss literally everything and make a very emotionally charged request. Caring about the game should be a given, its part of the agreement of signing up and investing enough time to make jury. But feelings are feelings and I dont want to vote randomly so... *gestures vaguely* My justification is that at least the vagueness/introspection of it is in character, and it was an invitation for them to show how well they *got* HK. It is a tough question but black ignoring tbt word count was a huge fail and they both still don’t get you. But that is the enigma you are. I don’t know if anyone here could answer your question to your satisfaction but I know that I seem to came through closest to ‘getting’ your character and I understand what you were generally looking for here. I sort of feel that some of your disconnect comes from the inherent ambiguity in your character and role play. You were essentially a Schrödinger’s cat of character. At all times all possibilities. That created a lot of fear for some and enjoyment for others. But none of them seems to understand that your goal was to somewhat experiment playing as an enigma in an ORG. I think that you hoped it would bring the game to some new level where people embraced the concept but their ultimate fear of it (mine included) just resulted in rejection of the concept. Why should you care? Because the idea had value and new concepts are almost always rejected on first blush. Why should you play again? Because it was a unique and interesting take and given we all invest so much time in games like this, it is always refreshing to see evolution.

Wood - Joey (my guess even before it was revealed) Igor - Big V Barty - Harry Lily - Cara or Casey Diggle - Sammy or maybe Connor? Yax - Hayley or if Connor is Diggle, Sammy HK - Locky Tonks - One of the 'Cumboys'. I am not really sure who they are. Maybe Jericho, was he one? Just basing this on the pairing with Locky. Black - Ross
A lot of those are guesses, but I feel quite strongly about Igor, Barty and HK.

Well I think I am as decided as I am likely to be, although I am far from certain. Going to be a real interesting vote reveal I reckon. It seems like for a lot of us it could go either way. Looking forward to it.

Thanks Yax. I'm satisfied with the answers you have provided. And I know that you must be making extra time in your day for this as we are passed your usual RL deadline.
Again, well done to both of you. You both played incredible strong and subtle games. I struggle with subtle as I feel the need to be in control. So I really respect the games that both of you played.
I wish you both the best of luck for the vote tonight. Either of you will be deserving winners of this incredible ORG.

Just on the misreads as well, are we generally in agreement that (sorry Lily) Yax would have been in a better place here against Lily (of course without the benefit of what I am sure would have been a stella FMC from her) than he is against Black?

Peter PettigrewJust reflecting on the Day 1 rules which said we could speculate wildly on the ID's of the cast on our diary on the last day. Is this said last day? May I do so? I have been very weary of not stuffing this up given what happened in Smash.

Thanks for all that Yax.
To confirm, I had plenty of reasons to suspect HK and Rudy were close most of all the stuff HK said to me right before tribal combined with everything Igor said from around 5 pm that day. I feel like, after you returned, you didn’t go back and read our group thread with Barty or the one I created with Pyrites before the vote. All the information was there.
And I agree our one on one was fairly light on once we made our trio but that’s because I was basically just saying everything of note in our trio chat. I did have a continued one on one chat with Barty but that was mostly us discussing what we should tell you and the answer was always, everything. I guess I didn’t really see you at that stage as someone to discuss strategy with one on one. But instead saw you as a loyal partner who, at that stage, didn’t have a lot of time to engage.
On Sacred 5 I told Barty about it before it even happened and told him I was not picking him as my person as I didn’t want to give away how tight we were. And then Rudy dragged his feet and I just got the confirmation from Barty anyway and told black that he was in but that Barty would revert through Rudy. So yeah I was all in with Barty before we even had the idol, it just sealed the deal. I though I had you for the vote at 9, but then Barty even told me that you were worried you’d be seen as my goats.
I guess your not entirely wrong in where you stood with me, but I had you locked in for at least my final 5 and my view is that at final 5 anything can happen. So you were part of my end game for sure.
I am close to deciding my vote but I want you to clarify one party of your game that I feel is lacking. Your reads on people and the situations seem to be a little off. As per all of the above and also as another example, I sent lily all the idol Clues day 1 (which is how wood got the idol).
And no one is perfect of course, I completely misread you and how you felt after all. It seems I just projected you feeling comfortable because I was loyal to you but didn’t actually realize that.
Can you give me an example of both your best read in this game and your worst?

Lily PotterRAB mentioned that he raised mine and Malfoy's profile, and I have to object. (I'm curious about his details about that though.) He doesn't deserve credit for me targetting Malfoy, as there were many reasons, but RAB played no part in that. First and foremost: Fleur wanted him gone and since I respected her I wanted to support her idea. Second (I told this over and over again) Malfoy made me anxious and paranoid (like IRL xD) so for the peace of mind, I wanted him gone myself. That's why I pushed Malfoy's vote whenever possible, but postponed it from time to time. In RAB I saw a secure number against Malfoy, once I actually decided to go for Malfoy. So I have discussed this once in a while with him, but again he by no means inspired me to go after Malfoy. Curious to hear Lucius Malfoy @malfoy take on how much Regulus had to do with him targetting Diggle Not a lot to be honest. My issue with Dickie is that I went into the DoM thinking he’d be my rock and ‘way in’ given our owls and my relationship with Yax. Instead he tried to get to vote the wrong way on Pyrites and even doubled downed on it when I said I was sticking with my word to fleur and tonks. He was like i don’t know I really think you should vote for black. Then he played a dickie fake idol on me for no reason. All of that pissed me off. Later on it went exactly as he said but Really I was just looking for him to say Dickie was saying that because that gave me permission to target Dickie which I wanted to do. So he didn’t cause the rift but he read the room perfectly and exploited it. That’s what is impressive to me.

I do feel that Black’s subtle moves have been impressive. He is perhaps over selling the impact of some of them, but he can only read the outcome and correlate it with the move. What is clear is that Black had a great read on the players and the game enough to know who to white ant to who and who to play against who.
His plan with that throw a vote on me at the Travers boot worked perfectly. It made me Uber paranoid. And I remember the post he said to lock me in. The one about feeling close to me because his Other close allies were gone. Of my hundreds of missives that is the one I still remember because it felt it was said with actual emotion and honesty.
He may not of pushed Dickie into being worried about me but he certainly played into it because he had the right read. That that beef was genuine and not put on.
In a game like this having the right reads is everything. And having them without body language and facial cues is so hard.
Yax on the other hand didn’t realise Barty and I were ride or die or that I’d already sent lily all the clues days before he did.
I think this is the most impressive part of blacks game.

Making my way through FMC opening statements now. Just an observation, why do ORG players generally feel that because they don't have a strict word limit, it means they need to write an essay detailing every little tidbit that happened in each round. They would never be saying this if it was a live speech. Not only is it a pain to read, but from a strategic persepctive it provides more opportunities for someone to say "you were wrong about this". Only put in what is actually relevant to us voting for you. On the complete flipside, I find Regulus' opening statement to be too lacking. He talks about losing his early partners but doesn't provide specifics about what he did to develop new ones or navigate around that loss. Hopefully he'll go into much more detail in his answers Agreed his opening left a lot to be desired but he’s making up for it in this answers and perhaps that is the better approach. A short opening statement and keep your powder dry for the questions. If something doesn’t get asked/you don’t get a chance to say something, use your closing statement. I like the approach.

Peter PettigrewI’m sure you don’t mind a tag at this point if the game? I was hoping to make one request for the reveals? Where someone is from the austranded board are you able to note their rep there as well as their og name? Otherwise I often find myself having to ask who’s that, on almost every reveal? That said if there is some convention on why this isn’t done, that’s completely fine.

Thanks for that Reggy. Great explanation.
Just one thing I want to clarify: my understanding from the jury is that in my boot the original split was Deatheaters voting Wood and Order voting me and on the revote you switched your vote to me and Dickie switched to Wood, resulting in me still going home. Did you switch to me and if so why?

Is it just me or is Black destroying these answers. We might have a real *SNIP* scenario here. Love his reveal that he voted for me in the Travers boot. And the strategy of it. Top tier stuff. Oliver Wood, we’re you playing the idol for black at 7 if you were immune?

My fellow Deatheaters. I suppose I shouldn't be too bothered that the two of you made it to the end. After all, the two of you were two of my earliest allies in the game. And at the Manor I was in no less than 4 group chats with each of you with only 2 of those crossing over. Thinking on it this last week or so, I do feel that my downfall in this game was not creating nearly enough group chats. But for that, I would have had this game in the bag. Without further ado, I wish to congratulate you both for reaching this point. This has been an incredibly challenging and difficult ORG to play due to the twists and turns, the switches and swaps, but most of all, due to the calibre of players that were cast. Almost every single player here brought their all. To be standing here at the end, you should both be very proud of yourselves. I want to say that I am coming into this undecided (as is, I believe, a large proportion of the Wizengamot). Personally, I have been undecided since Barty went at 4. He was my boy and I’d been stumping for him since I got booted and then Yax had to go and take him out and since then I have been uncertain. I respect the games that both of you have played. They are both great games. Yax, you played the upper middle so well, hung in the background and then emerged as a power player at the end. Essentially a text book winning survivor game. Reggy, you have been an underdog since day 1 where you lost your two closest allies within minutes of each other, and while there is a factor of skating through the mid-merge as everyone tries to build a resume, the fact you made it to that point and your role in the end game cannot be diminished. Yax, there are few things in your novel that I want to correct, but firstly I need to commend you on keeping up the dumb deatheater shtick the ENTIRE game. No matter the conversation, no matter the intent, no matter the time pressure, you still put the time in to keeping the form of prose true to character. Fleur did this as well and she was perhaps that one bit more impressive (by including all those French accents as well), but taking nothing away from you, it was incredible by you. Kudos for that. Generally, I like most of what both of you said about me in your opening statements, after all I am somewhat of an egomaniac; no surprise I expect given I did choose Lucius Malfoy as my rep. I enjoyed both the numerous mentions in Yax's novel as well as the short sharp compliments in Reggy's post. Still it should be no surprise that my questions seek even more of a deep dive on our relationships. Yax, a lot of your reads at what happened at the Manor are incorrect. I was always 100% loyal to Barty first and you second. Of course, there was a core within the sacred 5, it was me, you and Barty. The only three that knew about my idol. I do not know why you thought that that you were not in my core given we had a day 1 alliance and I brought you into S5. And you will note I am sure that I said my idol, and I think this is where I signed the death warrant of our relationship. I found that idol day 1. You may recall that you sent me your parchment that morning of the first owls and then went offline. I then spent the day swapping parchments with 3 other people (Travers, Pyrites and Igor) (I ended up with 5 pieces (2 doubles)) until I finally got the final piece from Black around 6 pm. Took me around 2 hours to crack the password and then I went to Barty and asked him to do Puffs with me for 7 hours. We finished at 3 am. We brought you in on the later idol search the next day or the one after and I decided to tell you I got the idol from that as Barty and I were 100% loyal to you. I can see however, that from your POV you may have felt I wasted an idol to which you had some claim (more on that below) and sadly, I don't think I could have ever told you the truth about how I got it to clear that up as that would have been just as bad. A real Catch 22. On the Pyrites vote, it was the right call. And had you been online, we could have got the numbers for Rudy without the idol as Igor was willing to vote Rudy if we had the numbers (just not on a tie). HK has confessed to me now (post game) what I always suspected, that he and Rudy were extremely tight and Rudy was leaking him everything about the S5 as was HK about MC. If we didn't swap that night and Pyrites went, you me and Barty were stuffed unless Igor swung over to us but he too was super tight with HK, so I expect their target would have been you or Barty. S5 was a lie. MC was a lie. I could see that. What was true were my relationships with Barty and you (and of course crazy old Igor who spilled me all the beans), so my priority was keeping us all safe. So in fact, I actually did use the idol for the three of us. It was not last minute (it started 3 hours before MC) and it was not pointless. I was ready to read you the riot act on this reading the first chapters of your novel and describing my actions in this manner. But then half way through the second chapter, you did acknowledge the above as what might have occurred? Yet it seems, you still never trusted me like I trusted you when we joined back up? And for the record Wood did transfer me his idol and I transferred in back (just before tribal, not after as I said was our deal). It was a way of showing each other trust again after what had happened. We had reached 100 points on the merge, for better or worse, so I am sure you can understand the connection I had with him given your note about you and Dickie. Reggy, I am glad you enjoyed our rivalry. I wonder did you enjoy our connection and our friendship, as you did not mention it? We had an odd relationship to be sure. Made even odder by me idoling Rudy and then being swapped with you. But strangely, other than Barty and Wood, you were the person I was most honest with for almost all of the game (Yax didn't give me much post merge). Not about my moves specifically, but perhaps my feelings and my general approach. So my questions to the two of you are the same: - When were we actually aligned in your eyes and why?
- When did that alliance end in your eyes and why?
- And finally, the one thing I still do not have the answer to, which might get someone a bonus point, who the fuck voted for me in the Traver's boot?
Again fantastic effort by both of you. I am really happy it’s the two of you here. My ideal final 2 was Barty and I. But if it couldn't be that, frankly, I'm glad it’s the two of you, because so much of my game was intertwined with both of yours, and that makes me feel really special inside. After all, I am a bit of an egomainac after all. Your pal, Lucy.
